More Fyrinnae! April 2012 New Shades Swatches!

I know it's been a little while, folks, but once again last Friday I wandered off to Fyrinnae's website and what did I see? More new shadows!! I try to jump on ordering new shades as soon as possible so I can hurry up and get swatches on here for ya'll. Hope y'all enjoy!

First is Picture It: Sicily.

(from Fyrinnae) "Bright complex coral with a slight golden (pun not intended) shimmer finish. Leans more orange than pink, but that varies depending on application."

Next is Pteranodon.

(from Fyrinnae) "Deep, vibrant, shimmering turquoise, enhanced with a touch of silver sparkle."

Then we have Blogger Beauty.

(from Fyrinnae) "Bright, shimmering mauve-pink graced with a touch of blue sparkle. Looks slightly more pink over a regular primer, slightly more cool lavender over a sticky base. Named for all you gorgeous beauty bloggers."

Next is Parental Advisory.

(from Fyrinnae) "It's back! Reformulated in 4-2012 but very close to the original. Vivid shimmery royal purple. Almost two-toned because it has a blue base, yet the shimmer has a warmer hue."

Finally is Bitey Tyrannosaur.

(from Fyrinnae) "Brilliant lime green. Vibrant green and gold shimmer top a lush green base. More green than our "Omgwtf" and less flat."

And here was my free sample, Anemonie.

(from Fyrinnae) "This is not really green! It's a light sky blue with gold shimmer. While it does appear to be a shimmery gold/green in the light, look at it at an angle, and you get more of a highlighted soft blue."

SWATCHES!! (All are over Pixie Epoxy)

All I can say is, WOW! These colors are so me...So bright, so...LOUD! I love them! I didn't even know about Anemonie, but I am so glad they sent this as a free sample as it is gorgeous! I love every single one of these shades -- I can't even pick a favorite from this batch! I should note, though, that "Parental Advisory" looks more like a royal blue than a royal purple in my pictures, but it's definitely a purple.

How do you like these shades for summer? Will you be picking them up?

Just a little update.

I have such high hopes for this blog...I am working many many hours overtime at my job right now (all the more money for the business, of course) and I haven't had too much time to do any swatches recently. I have plenty coming for y'all--Coastal Scents mica swatches (I ordered a ton of samples), more Fyrinnae, more Shiro, some of my own concocted eyeshadows, some Ka'oir lipsticks, and plenty more. I just need to get over this hump and then I'll be back! If I don't die of exhaustion first. :/

Shiro Cosmetics Swatches (x8)

Much like Scaredy Cat, I really couldn't say where I heard of Shiro Cosmetics from, but I'm guessing it was from a Temptalia question and answer forum. Yeah, I think that was it. Anyway! Let me say this: I love that this company has such a strong theme, even if it doesn't work for everyone. I am not a fan of anime, but I went to school with people who were. Zelda, on the other hand, I could relate to. I don't even know how to work an XBOX or a PS3, but I could whoop some butt in Super Nintendo! The less buttons, the better. Thank you.

Here are the products and their website descriptions:

Everything is Bears: (from "Special Colors & Gift Sets") Rich, dark brown packed with gold glitter (because bears are the kings of the forest) and red sparks (representative of the blood of mauled hikers). Shiro Cosmetics is not responsible for maulings which occur as a result of this product.

Ocarina: (from "The Legends Collection") Bright, cheerful, shimmery blue  with lots of silver sparks.

Heart Attack: (from "The Notebook Collection") Deep maroon with blue duochrome.

/hugs: (from Valentines 2012) - no description available

Wheeeeeee!: (from "The Science Collection") Rosy, shimmery pink with a strong golden duochrome.

Acid: (now called "Rupee" from "The Legends Collection") Vivid, shimmery yellow-green with golden undertones and just a touch of darker green glitter.

Gyrados: (not called "Evolve" from "The Super Effective Collection") Vivid, opaque blue over a shimmery white base.

Thinking with Portals: (from "The Science Collection") Bright semi-sheer orange with blue duochrome and glitter.

Swatches!

I can honestly say that I like every single shade in this bunch, but the ones I absolutely love are Heart Attack, /hugs and Thinking with Portals. All swatches were applied over Pixie Epoxy. I really liked these shades from Shiro. My only gripe was the sifters, but to each it's own. I ordered these quite awhile back and just started using them because I finally popped all of the sifters out of the jars--not enough product comes through the little holes, in my opinion. I made a mess in the process. :P

What are your thoughts on Shiro Cosmetics?

Scaredy Cat Cosmetics Swatches (x14)

I wasn't really into indie makeup brands until around Black Friday of last year. I really wish I had known more about them before I shelled out so much money for more high end brands. Don't get me wrong, I love MAC lipsticks and Illamasqua Intense Lipglosses, but there is just so much out there that spending $14.50 for one single eyeshadow would seem ridiculous. Of course, if I was rolling in money, I wouldn't mind spending the cash, but I am not. :) I work retail, after all.

Anywho, I can't really tell you where I found out about Scaredy Cat Cosmetics, but I am so glad I did. The packaging is too freakin' cute--small glass vials with a company logo sticker on them. Unfortunately, they come in a baggie with the name of the shadow and ingredients on the outside of the bag and not at all on the vials. Not a problem, though. I whipped out my fine point Sharpie and wrote them myself before I threw the baggies away. I think my boyfriend either vacuumed  one or threw it away because I had originally ordered fifteen vials and I now only have fourteen. :(

Here is how they look in their vials:

Adorable, right?! Indeed. Now on to the swatches and name information!

From top left: Keltoi, Peacock Blood, Arctic Royale, (bottom, from left) Rose Gold, Insomnia, Chakra, Eire.

Second Batch:

(from top left) Pink Elephants, Pheonix Tears, Dysphoria, Caledonia, Nevermore, Draconia, and Teal Dear.

All swatches were done over Too Faced's Shadow Insurance in Candlelight.

As for my thoughts, some of these shades are unique and some are not. In a way, for me it's kind of refreshing to get new eyeshadows without tons and tons of glitter. I rather like these, however difficult it is to get product out of the tiny vials. I just pull the stopper out and use my eyeshadow brush to get the product off the cap. There's usually enough on there for one eye.

Have you tried Scaredy Cat  Cosmetics out? How do you like them? Does packaging influence you at all in your mineral makeup purchases?

OMG! Can't wait!

I just made a huge order with Coastal Scents...I have a plan in the making! I ordered some glitter powders, micas, filler powders, etc. so I can learn to make my own eyeshadows! I can't wait. I already promised some to my mom (and she is so excited haha) and best friends. I think I ordered just about every color, but mostly in samples of course. I want to see which colors I can work with before I jump in and buy them by the pound. Besides, samples of mica are only $1.00!

Hopefully I can turn this into a business. So excited!!
